Other White Varietals

2012 Eagles Rest Dam Block Semillon  "This is a freakish wine, still with the colour of a 1yo semillon, not a 4yo. What is more, the palate lives up to the promise of the colour, incredibly fine, long and pure, with lemon, lime and grapefruit citrus flavours locked together by tightly wound acidity on the long, perfectly balanced palate. An absolute steal at the price" - James Halliday, 96 points    $36.95 per bottle

2018 Gapsted Ballerina Canopy Fiano      "Plenty going on here. Plenty of flavour too. And taut to finish; rarely a bad thing. This is a fiano to be reckoned with. Honeysuckle, nectarine and citrus flavours lead the charge. Well turned out" - Campbell Mattinson, 91 points   $24.50 per bottle

2018 Meerea Park Hell Hole Semillon      $24.95 per bottle

2015 Mount Mary Triolet      "This is an uncommonly rich Triolet at this early stage, but that is all to the good, for it will mature majestically as all the vintages that preceded it have done" - James Halliday, 96 points; "It's light, fine-boned and flinty, with subtle tropical fruit flavour, a powdery texture, a bit of grapefruit rind and spice on a chalky finish of super length. Graceful. Very impressive" - Gary Walsh, 95 points; "The palate is velvet-smooth and beautifully seamless. The texture is a highlight, but it's also subtle and refined, restrained and more-ish. Very complex palate flavours of depth and intrigue. A satisfying, absorbing glass of dry white" - Huon Hooke, 95 points   $89.95 per bottle

2001 Peter Lehmann Reserve Semillon      "Juicy, clean and dry, but magically fresh. Superb lime-juice palate, more like an old riesling than semillon. Developing paraffin character. A magic wine: lovely age and style, with finesse, balance, refinement, intensity and spadefuls of character" - Huon Hooke, 96 points; "This is a worthy winner of about 18,500 wine show medals. Great to see this under screwcap too... This wine gives even the anti- Hunter Valley brigade a guilt free reason to enjoy Australia's greatest white wine style... On the palate light bodied with rich lemon/lime, spice, honey and toasty flavours. Intense fruit but the palate is dry with clean mouthwatering acidity. Very long dry lemon zest finish. Complex, refreshing" - Gary Walsh, 94 points   $45.00 per bottle

2016 Tahbilk Marsanne      Trophy - 2016 National Wine Show of Australia; "This 2016 version looks pretty damn good. It's a textural wine with a good sense of coiled fruit/flavour power and a general crunchiness... This is an excellent release of this iconic wine. It's routinely a steal; this year particularly so" - Campbell Mattinson, 93 points; "Tahbilk's version is a floral delight - aromas of honeydew melon, lemon and wet stones burst out of the bottle. It's zippy and fresh and there's richness to its lemon and tropical fruit flavours. Tahbilk's Marsanne is a must for every cellar" - Ben Thomas   $19.50 per bottle

1999 Tahbilk Marsanne      Jeremy Oliver - 90 points; "All it needs is time" - James Halliday, 87 points   $24.50 per bottle

2011 Tyrrell’s Johnno's Semillon    "It has all the vivid flavour of great young semillon, minerally acidity the turbo-charged energy that will drive the palate for decades to come" - James Halliday, 96 points; "Again the star of the tasting for me. Textured, long and layered... over a rich and quite full palate that initially looks too soft and ripe to be great. Yet there is this wonderful late acidity, a fillip of chalkiness through the back end that just adds an extra layer of intrigue, with an almost subliminal smokiness too. All up it's a stylish white, a wine with more palate weight than most other Hunter Sems, yet still with upright acidity. I like it very much, even though I think it's best years are some way ahead of it" - Australian Wine Review, 94+ points; "It's tangy and firm with a subtly abrasive texture that lends it more layers and adds an extra dimension to that of your average Hunter Semillon. A little grassiness comes through on the finish, but what a charismatic brute it is. One for the cellar" - Gary Walsh, 94+ points; "Crisp, fresh, really tart acid, but not unbalanced. Green apples and lemon zest. Potent and concentrated - has the full potential of the variety" - Richard Hemming MW, 17.5 points out of 20  $72.95 per bottle

1997 Tyrrell's Lost Block Semillon      James Halliday - 91 points; Jeremy Oliver - 90 points  $29.95 per bottle

2013 Tyrrell's Vat 1 Semillon  "The Emperor, shy but strident, wearing a myriad of citrus and orchard colours and a tensile sash of calm, and poise. This majestic wine's lightweight belies its sheer stretch of flavours across the palate. Energetic and gently grippy; tightly wound but bristling with mineral intent. Bottle age has softened this ever so slightly. Nothing more. An Australian classic in the making!" - James Halliday, 97 points; "There's just a whisper of toast starting up, but the wine is reserved for its age, promising to live long if cellared. Taut, dry, savoury and restrained. An excellent wine with a long future ahead of it (5 Gold medals)" - Huon Hooke, 97 points; "A powerhouse palate presenting juicy, almost sweet, citrus fruit that fills the mouth - remarkable presence for such a light wine. Subtle powdery texture and pure acidity. Length to burn. A classic Vat 1" - Gary Walsh, 96 points; "Already thrumming with complexity, loaded with lemon fruit, wax, toast and fantastic marine saltiness on the finish. Long and layered, with the sense that the petals are only just beginning to unfurl. As ever, there is huge potential here" - JancisRobinson, 17.5+ points out of 20  $76.95 per bottle

2011 Tyrrell's Vat 1 Semillon  "This is a beautiful Vat 1, just starting its journey towards maturity. Its balance and harmony allow it to float effortlessly along the palate and into a finish that caresses that taste buds. It will develop slowly, but give pleasure whenever it is tasted" - James Halliday, 97 points; "This wine is showing some positive aged characteristics but remains fresh and very alive and promises to live on for many more years. A superbly stylish, delicate, high-quality semillon" - Huon Hooke, 97 points; "Showing some positive age development, but not yet toasty or mature. Some aged nuances, but it's fresh and alive, and will live for many more years. A fine, delicate, top quality semillon" - Gourmet Traveller Magazine, 97 points  $79.95 per bottle

1993 Tyrrell's Vat 1 Semillon   James Halliday - 95 points; Jeremy Oliver - 95 points  $65.00 per bottle

2017 Wanted Man Marsanne Roussane      A classic blend of Rhône valley whites; voluptuous, richly layered, floral and exotically spicy. Superbly balanced, displaying a lovely mix of honey, citrus, honeysuckle and acidity. Will develop beautifully with age. Highly recommended; "A bright, fresh, zippy Rhône blend that combines the prettiness of marsanne with the palate weight and strength of roussanne. Delicious aromas of honeysuckle, citrus, tarte tatin and buttered toast. Gaining bottle complexity as it ages with stone fruits, almond meal, nougat and wet stone. Brisk acidity ties it together beautifully. Gently savoury, too" - Jeni Port, 94 points     $25.95 per bottle

2017 Wanted Man Viognier      Winner of a prestigious Double Gold Medal at the 2018 Six Nations Wine Show; lovely varietal notes of honeysuckle and white peach, beautifully fresh and clean, with an abundance of fresh citrus-tinged acidity; "The palate is medium-bodied and clean, with lightness of touch and no excesses of alcohol, tannin, sweetness or heaviness. It does however retain some richness and very good character, excellent typicity and length. A very smart viognier" - Huon Hooke, 93 points     $22.95 per bottle

2009 William Downie Petit Manseng      Deliciously fresh; wonderful with Thai food     $37.95 per bottle

2017 Wise Vineyard Leaf Series Verdejo      Verdejo is a spanish variety seldom grown in Australia. A delicious wine, crisp and aromatic, full flavoured and super dry, but with enough acid to maintain elegance and freshness. Most appealing.     $19.95 per bottle
